Lynne Strachan
Lynne Strachan is a visual artist living in a small town in the North East of Scotland. Her work explores the interaction between science and art, through presenting the forgotten or invisible as visible.
Lynne photographs abandoned buildings, capturing the beauty of these places and translates them in to evocative prints.
“Old decaying architecture intrigues me; the textures and patterns remind me that everything is impermanent. Standing inside an abandoned building feels like the end of time.”
Polymer Photogravure is a printing technique which falls under the Intaglio process of printmaking. A photograph is exposed on to the Polymer plate, which creates an image lower than the surface level, the subtle grooves on the plate holds the ink which is then printed.
